[Skin Aesthetics] Skin Care Clinic
WABI-SABI
The Medicross, Hillcrest is adding a skin aesthetics clinic. The space is designed with the concept of WABI-SABI, the Japanese philosophy that embraces imperfections, asymmetry, and aging. The concept contrasts the services provided at the skin care clinic and seeks to create a healing environment both physically and psychologically.

RATIONAL
The interior design for the skin aesthetic dermatology clinic draws inspiration from the Japandi style, a fusion of Japanese and Scandinavian design, with a particular emphasis on the philosophy of wabi-sabi. Embracing wabi-sabi's celebration of nature's imperfections and the beauty found within them, the design incorporates elements that highlight aging, nature, and asymmetry. This is achieved with textures in the walls and furniture, curved designs, natural tones and materials and custom-made pieces. This intentional contrast reflects the clinic's procedures that aim to conceal imperfections. Using sustainable, natural materials with gentle contours and shapes, the design not only fosters a serene atmosphere but also aims to create a psychologically healing space. It seeks to instill an appreciation for the allure of imperfection within its aesthetic and ambiance.
